How difficult is the Mount Batur sunrise trek?

It's a moderate hike: around 2 hours up on a well-worn trail with some steeper, gravelly sections near the top. If you can climb stairs for 15–20 minutes, you can do it. Our guides set the pace to the slowest member of the group and take breaks whenever needed.

What time will you pick me up?

For sunrise treks, pickup is between 01:30 and 02:30 depending on where you stay. We confirm your exact pickup time by WhatsApp the evening before your tour.

What should I wear and bring?

Comfortable trainers or hiking shoes, a light warm layer for the summit (it can drop to 10°C before dawn), and a small backpack for water and your camera. We provide flashlights, breakfast and hot drinks.

How do I pay? Do I need a deposit?

No deposit needed — you pay in cash (IDR or USD) or by card on the day of your tour. Your booking is confirmed by email and WhatsApp as soon as you submit the form.

What happens if it rains?

Light rain rarely stops a trek — the trail is safe and sunrise often breaks through. In the rare case of dangerous weather, your guide will offer to reschedule or fully refund the tour. Your safety always comes first.

Can children join the trek?

Yes — children from around 8 years old regularly summit with us, and our guides are wonderful with kids. For younger children or anyone who prefers not to hike, the 4WD jeep sunrise tour is a fantastic alternative.
